Its scale and it’s 4×4 :side:

I said i’d do a thread and I’ve been building Lego since well, for almost as long as I can remember. I also modify sets to have more functions or be more scale so the complete pre-cursor to this hobby.

Anyway, the GF bought me a Lego Unimog for Christmas and forced me to wait until my week off in January to build it. That gave me time to plan the modifications :silly:

It comes with a power take off for the front and rear, pnuematic compressor with air to the front and rear, a winch, rear crane arm and a tilting cab.

I’ve added black wheels – 1.9 Ansmann Tyres actually fit the standard rims! – lights, snow PLOw, crane, fork lift and made the rear bed tilt on a ram powered by an air tank running off the compressor. I’ve also re geared the portal axles so the four cylinder motor spins faster.

If you’re ever bored then get one, they look awesome sat on a shelf/desk and is Legos largest technic set to date. Once they finish production the prices will sky rocket (like most of their sets I suppose)

Good idea! I wanted to get make it RC and although do-able you either sacrifice the scale looks or ditch most of the mechanical internals although I may have figured out a way to do make it work…

I adore my Unimog , I have made a tipping rear bed and Mower attachment .
They aren’t remote control out of the box but i don’t think they need to be to be fun . The diffs are made of cheese on them tbh .
                      Jack.

                        That is awesome.

I always can’t help myself at Toyfairs and end up buying some Technics.

                        Currently have

                        Breakdown Truck
                        Combine Harvester
                        Superbike
                        Jeep

Will have to sort out a pic tomorrow
