Welcome To Scale RC

This forum is a meeting place for fans of scale building to share their builds and comment on those of others.  We concentrate primarily on off road vehicle builds, usually but not limited to what are typically described as 1/10 scale.  We have a broad range of abilities from beginners to seasoned builders and fabricators.

We are keen for new members to sign up, be you experienced or just setting out in this wonderful hobby.  The forum fosters a friendly and helpful approach with advice freely given on all aspects of scale building.

The forum is free to access and provides an extremely useful resource that its members are all very proud of.  Whilst the items below are guidelines and not strict rules, repeated misuse of the forum and blatant disregard of these guidelines will lead to a warning and/or a ban. The forum is there for everyone to enjoy and benefit from, not to abuse – so please exercise some common sense, follow the guidelines below, and hopefully Scale RC will continue to improve as we develop the site.

Grievance Issues

If you have any issues or problems with another member’s posting on the forum, please PM or email a moderator.

If you have another issue, problem with abusive PMs or wish to speak to a moderator directly, firstly look for any moderators that are currently online. Their names are highlighted on the forum homepage in the “Who’s online section”. If you have a problem that cannot be resolved by a moderator, contact the administrator.

Although the administrators and moderators of Scale RC will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages.

The owners of Scale RC reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

Forum Etiquette

1:- Shouting

Please do not post in CAPITAL LETTERS (otherwise known as shouting). This makes threads difficult to read and is generally frowned upon by other users.

2:- Duplicate Posts

Please refrain from creating duplicate posts as this will clog up the forum and again make it difficult to read. If your original post has not had the response you desired, leave a polite reply to it to remind members that you’re still awaiting a response rather than starting another thread for the same subject.

3:- Search Facility

A number of topics are re-posted on Scale RC from week to week. This applies particularly to technical questions which have already been covered. When posting up something that you feel may have been covered before, please use the search facility in the menu bar above to check if the topic has been covered before.

4:- Aggression

We appreciate that by its very nature, a forum will be a lively area in which to have discussions and debates and as such, these may sometimes become heated. However, any aggression or pointless bickering usually degenerates into a tit-for-tat scenario and the thread is subsequently locked. We would ask that all members respect the forum and other forum users; if you have any grievances, contact a moderator.

5:- Common Sense!

It would be quite easy to fill a page here with the types of behavior which would contravene forum rules – racism, sectarian references, personal attacks, etc. The best way to use the forum is simply to apply a little common sense and treat people online with the same manners and respect as you would in real life. The forum rules clearly state what is allowed and not allowed on the forum in more detail.

6:- Txt Speak

It has been noted that the use of ‘txt spk’ has increased somewhat on this forum (amongst others) recently. Most members find it frustrating and difficult to read, and it usually takes just as long to type a sentence using txt spk as it does to type it in proper English. We would ask that all members refrain from using text spk of any kind on the forum.

7:- Multiple Identities

One user account per person. If any user is found to be using multiple accounts, these accounts will be removed and the offending user will potentially face a permanent ban from the forum

Image Guidelines

To keep the forum loading quickly and easily for everyone, please following these simple guidelines when posting images:

1: Picture Hosting

Photographs may be uploaded to the forum for display in member’s posts.  Although regular backups of the forum are made the forum owners make no guarantee that your images will be always available, please ensure you keep your own copies.

2: Picture Usage

By uploading to or displaying your images and photographs on the forum you accept and give permission to the forum owners and adminstrators to use them to promote the forum on social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

3: Signatures are allowed but no signature images as it just spoils the flow of the page.

4: Avatars

Again, avatars are allowed on the website, but anything inappropriate such as sexually orientated or racist/sectarian images or animated gifs are not allowed.

5: Inappropriate Images

This is a public forum with a large amount of younger members. Do not post any inappropriate images.  Anyone who posts an inappropriate image will have it removed without notice and given one warning. If following that warning the user posts another inappropriate image they will have their account deleted without further discussion.

Please be civil.
