Indeed, I do wish it had come with the round headlights but it was fairly cheap so I mustn’t grumble. I also thought it was brown in the original pictures but turns out it’s black lol. Not sure what’s going on with the sidelights, they seem to be orange as opposed to painted orange, did some models come with orange ones?

Weird, not the RC4WD ones I believe, they were all on a single clear parts tree – the Tamiya ones come in clear and also in a nice urine yellow colour:

As I had no headlight lenses for this body I thought I’d have a go at Tamiyaafying it. I cut some styrene to fit and added some Axial light lenses which are pretty much the correct size, it sort of works, if you don’t look too closely. I also got fancy and used a silver Sharpie around the outside of the lenses. As spending £13 on some ickle bits of plastic doesn’t particularly appeal I guess I’m stuck with the urine coloured side light lenses, something I seem to remember seeing when driving on the continent back in the 80’s (red Volvo 240 GLT on the Autobahn at 18 years of age while my parents slept in the back.)

Today I took one of the fuel tanks I did ages ago for the Unimog and re-styled it
Old one:
It was my skill level a couple a years ago but now I want this style,it’s more suitable:
So took the filler, cut a bit and covered in 1mm ABS to maintain the edges at both ends:
Not finished but the worst part is over

Pretty sure this isn’t quite scale enough, but not had much time for R/C’s recently. 🙁
Finally got round to applying the MCI Decals Optima Mid set to my Mini-Z Optima Buggy.

Put the finishing touches to my Scx10ii with the proline hilux shell I didn’t think that it’d end up being as big a project as it turned into I’ve got just about everything that Knight Customs has in the shapeways store with the exception of the drop bed, interior and stowage racks.
I just need to get it out and get it dirty now.

I like these RC4WD Wrangler tyres so much I got another set, 1.9 this time, for the Toyzuki Hilux and mounted them on some RC4WD steelies.
