<p style=”text-align: left;”>Ok, so I will pit my hands up now and admit that this is finished but I thought I should document my build πŸ™„</p>
It started last year with a Traxxas Trx4 Defender in red.

    20170716_201952

Soon after it ended up looking like this

    20171015_163606

But every one had a red Defender so a clear body was sourced and it turned in to this πŸ™„

    20180224_141318

    20180224_140330

    20180224_141041

But I was never happy with the detail on the body and it came to a head when my wife came in to the man cave and asked why I had 2 rigs the same as this is also in the collection

    20180416_173004

So a plan was hatched a a Team Raffee defender 90 pick up body was purchased from Simon at Greens Models.

Day one, will this fit πŸ€”

    20180313_105900

Measure twice and cut once! 🀞

    20180313_160002

A plan was hatched for the front body mounts πŸ˜‰

    20180401_212148

The back of the body was closed up

    20180403_214000

Lots of hacking took place to keep the interior with all the servos in there 😲

    20180330_222517

And with some creativity I’ve managed to keep the inner arches and made the outer spats work

    20180327_21171320180327_21393720180330_222538

By now it was starting to come together but I wasn’t happy with all the brass on show so Samix kit was orderedΒ 20180407_10260420180407_21430120180407_214328

The front winch was brought in as tight as possible to the grill, well through it πŸ˜€20180404_13440620180404_140225

By this point it was ready for the rear cage. The problem was I’m not set up for metalwork so I asked around and was pointed in the direction of some bloke called Pete who’s got a scale fab shop, I believe he is known on here πŸ€”

End of part one, part two coming soon!

    Part 2,

On it’s return from Pete’s scale fab shop it looked like this and I could get on with the fun stuff 😊

Absolutely stunning work by Pete πŸ‘20180518_22362520180518_22365020180518_22370820180518_22372620180518_223746so I got to work and everything was stripped, the cage was cleaned and the chassis and cage were painted with zinc galvernising sprayΒ 20180519_17215220180519_172152then the cage got several coats of blackΒ 20180519_221248and reassemble πŸ™„20180519_22162720180521_08441320180521_08443420180521_08445420180521_084514

End of part 2, bodywork next

Not a big fan of Landies usually, but I think I’m in love! Excellent concept and tastefully accessorised. Fabulous cage work from Mr A. Trx seems the ptoduct of the year.

Thanks, I like to work to a plan from the outset otherwise a build can get a bit out of hand with the accessories πŸ™„

I’m hoping to make the nationals in October with it 🀞

Just fantastic. Great ideas and fruition, seriously good looking and very capable rig. The tube work with exhaust pipe and tilting mechanism is genius.

You have yourself a fine collection there!

So it’s been a few weeks since my last post. Yes I’ve been using it and enjoying it 😁

Shocks have been tuned with lighter springs but I’m struggling to keep the oil in them πŸ€”

It had a good run at the Mendip quarry day.

Looks superb in action and that looks like a dream location, I wish I lived within sensible distance of somewhere like that.
