Mays Bank holiday weekend will be holding the annual Recon G6 event,  this years theme is Heroes & Villians.

I wasn’t going to build anything but then I changed my mind 🙄

I had a spare front and a bare bones Blazer floating around. After some head scratching, some MEK and a SCX10 chassis I had this.

Not content with just sticking them together I narrowed both ends.

So, two fronts means two engines and two sets of steering just to complicate it some.

I have a thing for diesels so it’s Cummins 6bt with turbos. F8E616C8-D1F6-4E48-8E74-F6CCE462924A

My plan was to get it in paint over the Easter weekend but work and wife had other ideas.

My choice of paint wasn’t cutting it so to get the shade I’m after it’s had a black base coat.

    More very soon.

Oh yes, loving that.  I have a Blazer shell that I’ve always intended to pinch, you’re giving me some much needed inspiration.

I was wondering recently: ‘we’ve not seen any crazy builds from Mark for a while…’!

Awesome start, I may be jumping the gun here but what’s your angle on the Heroes and Villains theme then, Two Face? 😀

They’re made of very thick plastic. I chopped the front off and then re attached with some plastic behind.

All I’ve done is drive them and post pics on instagram.

The original plan was Double Agent as it has two fronts. I couldn’t any find suitable figures in suits that were the right size. Then because my builds are jokey I figured the Joker theme would work.

The 1st figure was this guy.

    4996DE0F-3943-44D2-9E37-E77A8FD7D9B4

At £50 for a pair it was a bit steep and I wasn’t too keen on his face.

Instead I went the Neca route as he seems a little more sinister.

Sadly I’m still waiting for delivery as eBay seems soo slow these days. I’m no geek and don’t watch much in the way of super heroe films but I’m going with his hairs quite dark and moody green and purple so that’s the colours I’m using.

    Main colour done.

    Some detail work done.

Perfect, suitably crazy build for him!

That 60’s Joker certainly has some comedy value but the NECA one is far better.

Loving the direction this is going in – hang on.. what direction is it going in??  XD

    Update time.

My Neca figures appear to be fake as all the ones I’ve had previously are great quality and a mission to take apart. The 1st one seemed ok but the second his hand fell off followed by his leg.  They’ll do the job but one might have trouble shifting.

Now they’re here the interior can start.

I made a tub, the battery fits up by the dash in the rear or front, I get confused. A pair of seats and a couple of Hilux steering wheels. 4F0A8E7A-3ED6-4A3D-906F-D1E574B497F5

It bolts to the chassis and then with some swearing the body with fit over the top.

    More soon

I love that, good luck setting your forward reverse.  Just thought, I need one of these for comping, no reversing penalties!

I tried it with OJ but they wouldn’t let me off the penalty points.

Times been short but it’s essentially done.

Got the interior painted and the Jokers mounted.

Engines in, fuel and turbo pipes in.

A couple of shots of how it sits.

Hopefully I’ll get some outdoor pics before I crash it trying to use the 4 wheel steer.

Just brilliant, I love the way they each get a mirror! Where on earth have you managed to hide the electricky bits?

Thanks, battery is in front of the dash on one end and esc in the other. The original box for the receiver is still in place.

So it debuted at the Recon G6 and happily took Best engine and Best Villain.

Still needs marker lights as I forgot I needed two sets. I’ll take some nice shots at some point.

Brilliant Mark, The colour really looks great in the sunshine, shame about the shock problems though, I really wanted to see how it performed. You’ll have to give it a go in class 3 at the LSTR.

Thanks guys. Yeah shocks were a fail. I’ll figure it out and get some run time on it.
