Figured I’d do a build thread with the Rochobby Jeep as it’s no longer box stock.

I bought it in September right after getting back from the Southern Scale Trail. It was a chance buy as I didn’t expect my hobby shop to have one and they were also selling way below the others.
Having got it home I was a little disappointed in it, I think mainly because I didn’t expect to own one so soon. I took a picture and then put it away. I then contemplated selling it as I’d make a few quid.

It’s first run was at Leith Hill. It ran flawlessly and didn’t struggle with anything there.

Next up it’s the rocks at Tonbridge Wells

I decided that until I’d taken pics there I wouldn’t change it.
last week I went to a new spot and ran it through the woods. It kept up with a Wraith with no issues.

It’s amazing straight out the storage case. I can’t fault it. It’s done about 5 real miles without any issues. The tires just keep going. I see so many with different wheels and tires. Mud water, rocks, tree roots no issues just eats them up.
    Time to ruin it.

Taking it apart wasn’t hard but was a lot of effort. The whole thing was lots of screws and head scratching to get apart. All the servo extensions didn’t want to come apart.
Strangely I don’t have any pics of it in pieces as I painted it right after work and then stuck it back together.
Here’s yesterday’s return to the same spot for another run.

Next up is a bunch of details and a few accessories, I might braze up a simple cage.

Man, them’s some awesome pics. Love the grumpy old driver!

I’m not too keen on the shade of yellow tho, not sure why. Maybe needed another coat too?

Would be cool to see it with the red one now, those couple of pics of them together looked great

Thanks, I see what you mean about the colour. It’s Ford Daytona yellow over red primer. I plan on sanding some back. The colour might look a bit different out of the woods. I’ll try and get back to the rocks with the red one when I’m not on call.

Looks cool. Is definitively different from the usual OD green. In my opinion,  it just needs some weathering

Thanks, weathering is due, it got painted ran and then put away. It should pick up some scratches at the up coming Southern Scale Trail  I do plan on sanding some paint back.
