Ok so I started this build when we all should of been at the G6, but you know the story 🙁

Bit of a boring build but it was either this or gardening 😉

First off I’m trying to build this from mostly part’s I already have except from the LED’s which I’ve had to order.

    First off I started with a TF2 Lwb chassisIMG_20200507_185156

Then added my old TfL axles with home made links as I didn’t want to use the stock axles

    IMG_20200507_185143IMG_20200508_221414IMG_20200510_165737IMG_20200510_165740

Then added some new/old shocks and sleeved the links with stainless tube

    IMG_20200514_203015IMG_20200514_203006

Then started the body and cage, they’re new chinesium specials that I’ve had for ages with no purpose

    IMG_20200523_195338IMG_20200524_191659

I had to modify a few bits to get the cage to fit over the light bar correctly and also changed the rear bar to look better

    IMG_20200524_202938IMG_20200524_202933

This is how both sit after my G6 weekend.

That’s it for now next is bumpers and slider’s

If it’s anything like your old JK it’ll be epic.

Thanks but which one 🙂 Still got some catching up to you on the Jeep collection though.

Thanks, Chinesium is a new age hidden element on the Periodic table, but it’s fast becoming the most commonly used one that nobody really knows about (you’d be surprised at how much stuff contains it nowadays) 😉

Oh that one was a good un, won me an excellent prize 😉 I don’t think this one will sound as good though.

I got the bumper’s and slider’s done over the last few days, the front and rear are solid aluminium stock that I shaved down to shape on the band saw (the first good thing about being back at work) and then many hour’s of filing, sanding and fitment. And the slider’s are some steel hex bar stock I have with some mounting plates welded on, these are fitted to the body not the chassis (I do want to remake these in the future when I can eventually get some better material)

    IMG_20200528_203231IMG_20200528_203300IMG_20200528_203246

Then they got some simple shackle mounts fitted then stripped down ready for powder coating

    IMG_20200528_215848

And today I got them powder coated in black (the other good thing about being back at work 😉 )

    IMG_20200529_165625

    And fitted

    IMG_20200529_170602IMG_20200529_170612

Also got the cage recoated at the same time

    IMG_20200529_170534

Now to tackle the body, which is gonna be more work than anticipated as it was painted from the factory but apparently not very well by somebody with one eye…that’s made of wood… and that’s rotten…who’s never prepped anything for paint ever. So instead of just painting over the top I need to remove all the paint first and then start from sratch 🙁

    More to come thanks

So it’s been a while since I updated this and that’s due to my computer crapping out, but work on this didn’t stop, in fact it has been finished so this’ll be a long catch up 😉

First up was getting the body stripped and finished up and then throwing some paint on it, I went with Peugeot metallic Moonstone blue with matt black interior.

    IMG_20200603_210215IMG_20200603_210156IMG_20200603_210149

Added a grill and door rubber details

    IMG_20200617_073145IMG_20200617_171425IMG_20200617_195955IMG_20200615_190600

Minor Interior details That don’t really matter 🙂

Then it was time for final assembly and wiring the lights

    IMG_20200619_162657IMG_20200619_201830IMG_20200619_201842IMG_20200620_170936IMG_20200620_171027

    Some beach bums added

    IMG_20200620_171819IMG_20200620_171827

    Doors and fenders fitted

And finally after 6 weeks of waiting the wheels came in

    IMG_20200620_200849IMG_20200620_200812

These are 2.2’s that are 45mm wide that I stretched some 1.9 tyre’s on for that mall crawler look 🙂

    IMG_20200621_173510

I also got the lights hooked up to a 3rd channel (the blue’s and orange are always on and the whites and reds come on with a switch)

    IMG_20200621_173416IMG_20200621_173427

And lastly I did a bit to the dash as well

    IMG_20200606_141925IMG_20200623_194617IMG_20200623_194628

    And that’s it, it’s done

    IMG_20200623_194609IMG_20200623_194633

Now I have 2 totally new truck’s and 3 with new tyre set ups on and still have nowhere to go 🙁

Hopefully I’ll have some outside pics one day.

hope you’ve enjoyed the builds these last few months, Thanks as ever for looking.
