In May I got a sweet deal on a LWB tf2 chassis with the rc4wd v8 motor and R4 transmission.

After sitting on the shelf for a few months  and amassing some parts I’ve decided to make a start, and as I seem to have a Jeep itch I can’t seem to scratch so it’s ended up being another JK build, this is the style of truck I’m going for

They’re by a company called bruiser conversions called a JKCrew and you can have the option of a utility bed which I think looks cool.

So first thing I did was pull out the V8 to get rid of the horrid orange anodised finish.

Then after some sand blasting and a shot of black paint on the block and gold on the sump I had this

And then I machined the rocker covers, painted the headers and added some other scale parts (3D printed K&N air filter by Pete, some braided hoses, a oil filter, starter motor and plug leads) as I got carried away with the race engine look.

That’s as far as I’ve got up to now, there is more to come on the motor such as alternator, power steering pump etc.. but hopefully I will  tackle the body next (if life doesn’t get in the way…. 🙁 ) So stay tuned

That looks great! So much more real than the original colours.

I have a TF2 Blazer that would welcome the RC4WD motor however, a little too much money for me. Have fun with the build!

I don’t know why, I’m just not a Jeep fan BUT I do love a pick up and that one is pretty damn cool!

Excellent work with the engine too, looks a million times better than that original orange. Watching this one with interest 🙂

I‘m thinking about how I would get some mud out of this beauty of Motor.

I think it will be a Build for a Showcase?

Thanks, I wanted one of these motors for a long time but the price tag and everything you need to just mount the thing always put me off but when a friend was selling this ready to go I couldn’t pass it up.

Thanks, I wasn’t a jeep fan until I had my first but now I can’t seem to shake em, and painting the engine was definitely the first thing to do.

None of my rigs are shelf queens so it will get used but I may steer clear of the mud 😉
