Looks ace Pete, little bit of ageing perhaps just to take the shine off and you won’t be able to tell it from a real one

Thanks Neil, I need to practice the ageing process on something else before I attempt it on this, but it is in the offing.

finally got the last couple of bits done to this and gave it a quick test in the garden and finally took some pictures of it in natural light. :-)

I did shoot some video, not looked at it yet but if it’s any good I’ll edit it later and post it up.

That’s this essentially done apart from a couple of scale items for the bed, so now I can get on with Project Portal.

Thanks for following the build hopefully the next update will be it out in the real wild getting muddy. ::thumb::

And again Thanks for the pics Marc.

Very happy with the way this coped with the trail run today, despite loosing drive to the rear most axle.

I have drawn a couple of conclusions from the weekend, I need to use a different main gearbox as the current one is way too loud and slightly too under-geared. also it needs to have at least one if not both front axles locked to make it just that little bit more competent.

Lockers are on order already and I have a scx gearbox that I need to adapt to fit and all should be good for the Nationals :-)

I am even more impressed with how this handled the trails on Sunday as it not only lost drive to the rear most axle but also the front most axle ::doh:: for exactly the same reason too. Nice easy fix with a couple of pinned grubscrews, So now all the axles have drive again. The lockers arrived today (super fast service from Martin @ RcBitz as usual) which now means that I need to disassemble both front axles to fit them. I spent today redesigning the main gearbox and have managed to retain the casing and quieten it down a fair bit. I got SCX gears to fit instead of the CVT that it originally had.

So all this now needs is a slightly faster motor than the 21.5t thats in it at the moment. Hobbyking here I come.
