Back in 2018 I did a 1/14thish replica of Ddrzjohn’s 1:1 Suzuki Samurai for him.

After a chat at the Scale Nationals last October he asked if I would do the metal work for him to make a 1/9th scale version based on the JsScale body, to which I agreed and brought home the body and the MST chassis it is going to be mounted on. Since then it has set in the shed under a cloth as I haven’t had the time or motivation to do anything with it, that is until today when, after giving the shed a bit of a spring clean 🙂

I spent a couple of hours cutting and bending some 6mm o/d steel tube. resulting in the following. (currently held to gether with super glue)

Still need to trim a couple of bit up, but providing the flux I ordered turns up this week I should be able to braze this up.

I still need to make the front and rear bumpers as well as work out a way to mount the cage and sliders to the chassis.

Thanks as always for taking time to look.

    More as it happens.

Looks great as always Pete, love these little bodies and am wondering which leaf spring chassis would best fit under them?

Cheers Charlie, Not sure on the chassis maybe fit leafs to a Gelande 90?

Keep up the good work Pete. Thankyou

As requested the work has been kept up 🙂

Replaced the super glue with braze, who knew the side panel from an old Dell PC tower case would make such a nice magnetic table for brazing.

and then John, rightly, pointed out that the rear hoop was to wide. So I removed the rear of the cage and made a new, narrower, hoop and reassembled it all.

Next will be the rocksliders and front mounting points for the cage.

    More soon.
