Ive had a CC01 Discovery LR3 for last 5 years and got a spare New Bright shell several months ago which I have done nothing with.

Over Christmas I found a bargain FTX outback 2 rolling chassis and started putting the 2 together

Stripped the shell and painted errr…….yellow! 😆

Wheelbase was about 10mm short so made longer rear links, swapped battery and electrics trays over

Masked shell up and painted black details, added lights and body bits

I have a partial method of mounting the body but not quite there yet

Thanks for looking and more to come…..

I’m always unsure of a body colour until all the fixings and bits have been bolted on. It looks great.

I like the yellow, always goes well with black.

Thanks for the positive comments fellas 🙂 🙂

Don’t want drill the shell to mount to chassis, half way through an idea but struggling to make it work robustly…. think the ride height is about there??

Arches need a subtle trim for articulation

I’ve used strong Velcro with good results before.

That looks awesome, really coming along.

With my D90 van, I glued a bit of Foamex (anything rigid would do) across inside the body and then cut another piece with holes drilled that sat on top of the body posts and used strong velcro, as Peter above suggested, to mate the two – works really well. Did a similar thing with the front too. It helps keep the body central by always locating on the existing body posts (SCX10 chassis)

You can kind of see the mounts here
