The Axles are almost ready and I can’t wait to take it to the Frame.

The Wheelbase can now reduce up to 50mm per Axle.

      Old Version with scx-axle

Ground clearence is about 58 and 75 mm. Enough, I think 🙂

        Locking mechanism is ready.

M8 screw with excentric M3 screw. The  big one shifts the litte one with its little flat end and thus the locking ring of the diff.

Very nice indeed. I take it that will just be a manual locking mechanism, the throw looks too big to be able to connect to a servo and remote lock it?

Although I wouldn’t put anything past your abilities  🙂

            Thank you.

The rod is so long because today I don‘t know where the servo will takes his place and wich connection I will use.

A little china cheap micro servo should be powerful enough to move it.

I‘m too lazy to handle such a thing manualy 🙂

Today, after waiting for the kardans , I could mount the rear axle and take a few rounds in my cellar. It‘s raining so I couldn‘t test it in my heavy 🙂 garden terrain.

The wheelbase is now 35mm narrower per axle. Together with the unlocked axle the turning circle shrinks immense.

Hi there, after three months of mechanical things the last part of the build begins. All thing have to settle down on their final positions, some coloring or polishing and hiding a few ugly details.

Due to some geometrical Issues I have to turn the Motor. Now it lies above the pivot and at the same time it prevent to much turning of the back.

Powder Coating the Frame, polishing the transfer case

Final arrangement of the hydraulic elements. (Somebody calls the first pic “Hydraulic Bondage” 🙂 )

Very bad weather  in Cologne today 🙁  I need spring or summer, immediately 😀

Thereby the little testdrive takes place under the terrace canopy.

The rig is ready, almost. Just the rolling-cage left…

                    Regards

Great stuff, fantastic engineering. I would love to see this take on a proper course against more ‘traditional’ scale vehicles.

The driver looks very precarious perched up there, rather him than me!

I agree. Together with more capabilities in handling sheetmetal, because I’ve purchased a little proxxon bandsaw, I get new ideas about the body.

I’ll try ribs and smooth curves, I think. For this purpose I’ve started to make a model for the model 🙂

Obviously a bit ugly today, but it will be better. Hopefully 😀

Covered to protect it against the modelling material.

Wow. Just four weeks are gone since my last post. In this time a lot of try and error   happens.  The front is still my biggest headache and still uncomplete.

The mainbody is done and the rear body is in progress.

Some impressions from the actual rig

Actual work is on the drivers seat

New challenge was shrinking and stretching the sheet metal. At least it works.

Seats modified dimensions implied new doors. Therefore a first attempt to build new Doors with a self designed and built micro english wheel.
